THE GLOBE ALREADY STANDS IN EMIGRANT SQUARE

The Saudades da Terra globe was assembled this Wednesday morning (April 15, 2020) in the center of Emigrant Square. The team keeps the construction of the square going at a good pace, despite the contingencies caused by the pandemic.
Conceived by Luu00eds Silva, 4-meter diameter globe, entirely covered with Portuguese cobblestone, will now enter the finishing phase.
Meanwhile, the paving of the Shore To Shore design, created by the native Canadian artist Luke Marston, will begin, occupying a radius of 5 meters around the base of the globe.
Calu00e7ada dos Mundos by Liliana Lopes fills the entire southern strip of the square and is in the final stage of the process.
The square measures approximately half of a soccer field in surface area, and is located in the Monte Verde vicinity, in the city of Ribeira Grande, Su00e3o Miguel Island (Azores).
